This past weekend we took Anya to check on Dance and Gymnastics classes again. After visiting a second dance studio, she really did not seem interested in the dance classes at all, so we decided to go back to the Gymnastics place here in Cullman and just like last week she was super excited to be there! We decided to go ahead and sign her up for Gymnastics. She seems ready about it and tonight is her first class. She will work on the floor, vault, balance beam, and bars and she will be in a class with all girls her age between 3 and 4. We have a mini Olympian in the house! We also took her to feed the ducks and ride the train this weekend out at Sportsmans Lake Park. She had a great time and was very well behaved when we told her it was time to go.
In other news, I’m feeling like I can eat a bit more now in this pregnancy. Although I’m still not having a huge appetite. I’m just finally back to eating normal amounts of food again. Travis and I made crab rangoon yesterday and it was fun, but it is it still going to take some practice to get it right. The crab rangoon we loved in Vegas tasted sweeter than what we made. So, we are still seeking out some more rangoon recipes. Crab rangoon is a cream cheese and crabmeat mixture deep fried in a wonton wrapper. We had a good time attempting it though. And the recipe we used made a bunch!
Today, Anya and I headed to Decatur to look for her some more gymnastics clothes and found 3 more outfits for her. We got one yesterday that is purple leopard print and today we got a red, white, and blue one with stars, a pink and black one with ruffle sleeves, and a pink and black one with metallic hearts on it. She liked all of them and I ironically found them at Target. The best outfits for gymnasts to wear at this age are called biketards. They are tank top like leotards with shorts, but all combined into one outfit. That’s the best way I know to describe it, so I hope it makes sense.
Travis received sad news again last night though. He found out that his Dad’s former girlfriend passed away Saturday from some complications with pneumonia. She was around 50 years old and she came to our wedding back in 2000. Travis’ Dad died in 1991 and Barbara was his girlfriend at that time. We stayed in touch with her when we could through Christmas cards but had not seen her since we had moved away to Orlando and then Vegas. We have spoken to Barbara’s daughter though and hope to stay in touch more with her now. We were sad to hear about Barbara though, we still have the Auburn clock hanging in our house that she gave us when we got married and that will always be special to us.

We have made crab rangoon before and had the same problem. I couldn’t find a sweet recipe…just a salty one. Like this one:

The closest I’ve been able to come to the sweet tasting kind is to put some sugar in cream cheese, then make the rangoons that way. It tastes really good!!

oh, and you can get those sweet delicious crab rangoons in Decatur, at the Golden Phoenix.

It looks like Anya had such a good time at gymnastics. She is so sweet!

I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I’ll keep your family in our prayers.

    Y’all have a great weekend.
