Okay, enough already with the recalls on toys! Its food, toys, and everything in our world now! So, what exactly can we eat? What can Anya play with? Its to the point that anything “Made In China” can not be trusted. Of course, almost all the toys are made there too. I don’t mind that they are made in China, Mexico, Australia or wherever, but I want them to be safe for my child! We are talking about our children’s health here! Are we not capable of making sure things are safe for our children or have we just gotten lazy and greedy? I’ve stopped watching the news on TV because of all the bad things in the news or the ridiculous in the news. Because, honestly, who really cares that Paris Hilton was in jail? I didn’t and that is all the news was about in June! Now, do I have to stop reading the news too? Is ignorance really bliss sometimes? It really has annoyed me lately. Especially the toy recall. The food recalls haven’t been much better. When I heard they were recalling canned green beans I really started to wonder what exactly is safe anymore? I took Anya’s Cars Toys away from her, which I hated to do, because Anya loves to play with her little figurines from the movies she likes. Her buddy, Bray, really loved his cars too. What can we do though? We just want our children to be safe and as parents all we can do is shield them from the things we know are bad. How do I explain to Anya though that the country known as China is using unsafe types of paint on the toys she likes to play with? She doesn’t know what China is or paint or lead, she doesn’t understand. She’s been very sweet to let me take her toys away and without complaint and all I can tell her is that they are dangerous or “hot” which she understands that “hot” equals bad. Its still sad though and as a parent I had to rant about it. I can only hope the Mattel executives start seeing how aggravated parents are at their quality of service and figure out that we are tired of it. Maybe when they start losing money, they will start caring again!
