Anya was sitting watching a Barbie movie tonight as we are winding down for bed, and I sat Arwen with her and captured some of the cutest images of the week. Just had to share before I hit the hay myself!
So, Travis played in the Guitar Hero Tournament this past weekend. He did really good. He was the oldest one competing though, and definitely the only one who had responsibilities such as two little girls and a full time job. Yes, he was competing against a lot of teenagers (who obviously have plenty of time to practice) and a few 20 somethings. They played on the Nintendo Wii and the XBox 360, neither of which Travis had practiced on as we have Guitar Hero for the Playstation 2. The guitars were somewhat different and the game responded differently to the guitars, but all in all Travis did great. Whoever chose the song though ended up usually winning the face off. They played head to head with a double elimination. Some of the younger players were very impressive. One young teenage girl did fantastic, and she did it while sitting down too! Anya enjoyed watching her Daddy play though while Arwen slept through most of it! The tournament was a benefit for Relay for Life and Travis walked away with a t-shirt that says “I rocked out to fight Cancer!” He did great and I’m very proud of him, even though he didn’t win! He’ll get them next year maybe! ![]()
Saturday afternoon I ventured out of the house and got my hair highlighted and lowlighted! I had some caramel blonde put in and some burgundy red. I love it and Travis loves the red in it too. There’s a photo below but its hard to tell how well it came out though from the photo. Its much brighter and prettier I think than what the photo shows.
Yesterday we took Anya to visit Sacred Heart pre-school and we really liked it, but its a bit expensive and we aren’t sure if we are going to start her there in the Fall or wait until she’s ready for Kindergarten, but either way its a pricey school, although it does seem to provide an excellent education!
We also went to eat Mexican for lunch yesterday and Arwen did very well while I was eating. She was awake the whole time we were at the restaurant and enjoyed just looking around.
Anya has been very busy playing computer games lately and she was playing the Word World games the other day, came into the living room and asked me for a marker and some paper. She sat down at her table and started writing. She then brought it over to me and showed me that she wrote the word “B A L L” – “ball, Mommy”. She wrote in the right order and everything. I was so proud of her. She then proceeded to write two more times, all by herself. So, that is Miss Anya’s first word she WROTE by herself…Ball…isn’t that cool?
Here are some photos of Arwen that I took yesterday.
Have you ever been vacuuming and find a piece of paper or something that the vacuum won’t pick up, so you decide to bend down, pick it up then put it right back down on the floor in front of the vacuum and proceed to let the vacuum have one more chance at getting the elusive piece of paper? Sadly, I have done this, more times probably than I care to admit…
Anyone else Lost on Lost? I love the show I honestly do. I look forward to Wednesday night so much because of this show, but its so easy to get Lost on Lost. Their on the island, their off the island, the island moves, etc.
I don’t agree with the bailout plan.
Anya is all into Chutes and Ladders now. Arwen is into pooping 3 times a day now.
I just made cookies.
Little Arwen is 2 months old as of yesterday and has received her first shots today. She did really well, she only cried about 30 seconds. She weighs in at 9lbs 8oz. and is 22 inches long now. The doc said she’s a petite one. She’s in the 25th percentile, so she’s a little below the average, but she’s gaining weight and growing well and healthy so that’s the important part. I’ve been calling her little one lately so I guess the nickname fits. I’ve always called Anya “Boo or Boo Bear” and had a hard time finding something to call Arwen, but last week I called her “little one” and it just seems to fit so that’s her new nickname for now. She’s sleeping now and I’m hoping she won’t be too grumpy later.
My husband and I celebrated 9 years of being married yesterday. Yes, I love him more everyday. We went to dinner with our girls last night and then came home. He took the day off today so that’s our present to each other this year.
Happy Anniversary, baby. I love you!
