Okay, so I decided to create Anya her own category on my site. All Anya stuff is now on the right side in her very own section, just scroll down and click on the various links. Videos are coming soon!
So, we went to Blockbuster this morning to rent “Curious George”, which from what I remember did really well in the theaters, but they only had something like 10 copies of the movie and they were of course all gone! Now maybe its just me, but a kids movie like this I would have thought they would have more copies of. Then, the Blockbuster Clerk was rude, when I said something to her about the lack of copies and I was very nice, she just said ‘well, I don’t order the movies’! I wasn’t blaming the lady! And I used to work in a video store so I know how to be nice to these people! Still, “Curious George” they have 10 copies of but “Silent Hill” and something called “The Proposition” from Australia, they have a full bookcase of like 8 shelves full! And of course those were in stock, which I can see why, I mean really who wants to see “Silent Hill” other than a group of teenagers out with their boyfriend/girlfriend for the first time! Okay, enough of my ramble! I ended up getting “The Shaggy Dog” with Tim Allen and “The Lake House” with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. I’ll post a review on those two soon. I guess we’ll have to wait for Curious! I also added a few photos of Anya over the past two years for everyone to see a bit of how much she’s grown and changed. And as a thank you to my Aunt Judy for visiting our site so regularly! ![]()
Okay, so today we watched “The Sentinel” with Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland. First of all of course we love Kiefer so the movie was good just because he was in it to us. However, overall it has the same feel as “Murder at 1600″ and “In the Line of Fire”. Its about the secret service detail with a assassination mystery to it. Eva Longoria and Kim Basinger also star. The casting was done well. All the characters were believable in the roles. Its rated R primarily for the subject matter, although there is not much violence or language in it that’s bad. I would say its fine for ages 10 and over, although the 10 year olds might find it boring as its more for the 30 year old moviegoer. I would give it 3 and half stars. Travis also watched “Lucky # Slevin” last night and he liked it but I went to sleep, although I can tell you its Rated R, stars Bruce Willis, Josh Hartnett, Lucy Liu, and Morgan Freeman and its pretty violent. Looking forward to seeing “Curious George” this week with Anya.
Hi everyone. I posted some new photos of Anya today in her Gallery. These are some my Dad took while they were visiting out here at the end of August. Anya has been such a sweet girl lately! She even got a new toy yesterday because she’s been being so good. It has been hard in the past to go grocery shopping and such with her at times, but the past 3 or 4 times if I asked her to sit in the cart she has been willing and I didn’t even have to bribe her with a lollipop! She has also been picking up her own toys and doing super good in the bathtub when its time to wash her hair. She usually hates having her hair washed, but does it anyway. She never cries when Travis washes her hair, but she protests, and the past two times, she’s done great, no protests or anything! I just have to say that she’s a sweet, sweet girl, still a bit shy, but just a real sweetheart and I love being her Mommy! Also, feel free to leave comments on anything you’d like and I added another new link to the For Better or Worse Comic page.
Nothing too exciting has been happening around here lately. We went back to Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers this past Sunday for lunch. They have yummy chicken, comparable to Zaxby’s and Guthrie’s in Alabama. Raising Cane’s is originally from Louisiana and they actually carry sweet tea, which is highly irregular out here. Everyone drinks either flavored tea like raspberry or peach, or unsweet tea.
I went to a craft festival on Saturday and found a few things. I got another nightlight from www.gregdixon.com. He carves wax nightlights and they are really pretty lit up. I also got this pumpkin cobbler that’s really easy to make and is really yummy. They had cherry cobbler too, but ran out of it. Their website is www.plentifulpantry.com. And lastly I got Travis some peanut brittle. He likes it and so does my brother, but I didn’t get any for Stephen yet. I may order him some though for his birthday! Now, we will see if Stephen reads my website! ![]()
This weekend we are thinking of going to Ontario, CA for the day to the mall there and to get our Chick Fil A. Seriously. When you don’t have places like Chick Fil A and Krystals out here then you are willing to drive 3 hours to get it!
